Injection Molding EOAT

An injection molding cell gives the robot two jobs in one cycle: remove the finished part from the mold and deal with the runner and sprue. We built one tool that does both for large automotive parts.

The frame is an organic printed structure engineered for maximum stiffness with minimum material, and the vacuum channels feeding the cups run inside the body instead of hanging off it as hoses.

Injection Molding EOAT

Project Highlights

The Challenge

Large automotive parts demand a stiff, long reach tool, while traditional molding EOATs carry heavy mechanical grippers just to hold the runner and sprue.

The Solution

An organic 3D printed frame with internal vacuum channels, lightweight custom grippers for runner and sprue handling, and our proprietary quick connect system.

Key Features

Degating and part removal combined in one tool, with vacuum cups and sprue grippers positioned to follow the molded part geometry.

The Result

The EOAT swaps in seconds and returns to position with no adjustments, cutting mold changeover time in the molding cell.
